Youth Service Task Force
There is a wide range of organizations in the U.S. devoted to international volunteer youth service outside of the formal K-12 school system. These groups involve all ages of youth from kindergarten through high school. Increasingly, major national youth organizations that have traditionally focused on local concerns and needs are rapidly expanding their international outreach. Of special interest is the way in which youth are using all forms of technology and social networking to engage with counterparts around the world, both as part of a formal organization and as individuals and informal virtual social groups.
