Justine Shapiro, a Jewish-American filmmaker and former host of the travel series GlobeTrekker, takes her 6-year old son with her to Tehran where they spend the summer with three Iranian families. When the Iranian government abruptly gave them 48 hours to leave the country, promising relationships were severed.
*This documentary is scheduled to be aired on national public television in 2011.

Task Force Presentations: Best Practice Citizen Diplomacy Programs to Address Global Challenges of the 21st Century
Task Force groups representing nine sectors and co-chaired by experts in their respective fields will present ten best innovative and collaborative opportunities to increase U.S. citizen engagement in international affairs. The presentations are commitments for action submitted by organizations that responded to a call for new and innovative citizen diplomacy initiatives. All proposals are focused on one or a combination of seven major global challenges.
Roundtables: Addressing Critical Issues that will Require Policy and Mind Set Change
Nationally recognized experts in the field lead seven Roundtable discussions on critical issues that impact U.S. citizen involvement in international activity and present a report with recommendations for future action. Roundtable discussions focus on the current status of the field, effective problem solving methods and recommendations for the future.
*Summit Publications will be compiled on a CD and distributed upon registration. All publications will be available on the Summit website.
Briefing Sessions: Critical Issues related to Citizen Diplomacy
These sessions will discuss critical issues and special areas of interest to all those committed to expanding citizen diplomacy.
