Nominee Profile
Must be a current citizen of the United States and 18-years-old by November, 2010
Have accomplishments and/or activities that have increased mutual understanding, strengthened ties, promoted international cooperation, and developed peaceful relations between people of the United States and another country or countries.
Activities and accomplishments must have taken place since January 2008.
Nominee Process
Individuals may either nominate themselves or be nominated by another individual.
All nominations must include:
- Completed nomination form
- Brief biography of nominee
- Attached digital photographic image of nominee, recommended 300 dpi.
- Narrative describing the nominee and affiliated organization. Please address organization’s mission, history, location, population served, and the particular role of the nominee. If you are nominating someone other than yourself, please explain your relation to the individual.
- Three letters of reference.

Review Criteria
Clear commitment to promoting global understanding
Extent to which nominee represents excellence, diversity, and vitality of citizen diplomacy in the United States
Measurable, quantifiable, or otherwise demonstrated impact of achievement from nominee’s activities
Outstanding ability to attract, support, and motivate people in the field of citizen diplomacy
Evidence of dedication, originality, and capacity for leadership and self-direction
Announcements
Award honorees will be notified in writing by mid-August 2010. Final approval is confirmed by the USCCD Board of Directors. Media announcements are planned at least one month prior to the Awards Ceremony.
Important Information
Due to volume, entries will not be critiqued or returned. Photographs will not be returned. From the time of submission, all entries are the property of the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy.
