Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico served as the U.S. Secretary of Energy and as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. A congressman for more than 14 years, he was Chair of the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Native American Affairs. On behalf of the United States, he has negotiated with foreign leaders, including Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro, and North Korean generals.
