YSA to take part in Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play

Youth Service America, a USCCD member organization, will participate this Saturday, Sept. 24 in Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play. The eighth annual Worldwide Day of Play encourages active and healthy lifestyles and includes fifty national partners that have come together to work on this meaningful project. Among some of the activities that the YSA will sponsor are learning how to make jump ropes from plastic bags. You'll get some good ideas on how to use those extra plastic bags lying around the house and hopefully, this will help kids engage in daily exercise.
Youth service is such an integral aspect of citizen diplomacy. Whether it is serving in your community or serving in a community abroad, it provides the younger generation to work towards something that is greater than any one individual.
The event will take place in the Ellipse, located in the National Park Service unit of President's Park, south of the White House. YSA will be located on the Southwest side of the Ellipse by 15th Street and Constitution Avenue.
There will be an entire day of activities and games for kids and parents to participate in. Actitivies will begin in D.C. at 10 a.m. Cast members from different Nickelodeon shows will also be making appearances.
Among other notable organizations are: NFL Play 60, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and National PTA.
This is a perfect opportunity to get your daily exercise and to encourage activity in young children. YSA constantly promotes youth community service and engagement.
