Welcome to our newest member organization, AAU
 

The USCCD welcomes the Amateur Athletic Union of the US, Inc. as our newest member organization. AAU is a non-profit volunteer sports organization that focuses exclusively on promoting amateur sports and fitness programs.

Founded in 1888, AAU is divided into 56 districts and includes over 500,000 participants and 50,000 volunteers. Each year 34 different sports programs yield over 250 national championships at over 30,000 different age level.

AAU allows amateur athletes to participate in organized leagues and promotes the importance of exercise to all children and young adults. Some of the programs offered by the AAU are: AAU Sports Program, AAU Junior Olympic Games and the AAU Complete Athlete Program.

If you want to get involved and play sports against athletes of your own age, AAU offers anything from basketball to martial arts.

Fill out an application if you are interested in joining AAU. After you create an account, you can sign up as an athlete, a non-athlete or as a club. There are different fees for each application. The membership year runs from September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012.

So be sure to check out AAU's website and look at what different sports and programs are offered. If you are looking to participate at the amateur level and do so in an organized environment, AAU has all the options you need.
