Take the CISV Peace Day Challenge this September 21st

The Children's International Summer Village organization will support the "Peace One Day" movement on Sept. 21 as part of CISV's focus on conflict resolution. Peace One Day is an organization founded by Jeremy Gilley and is seeking to accomplish a global truce. The goal is to have an annual day of peace and complete non-violence by Sept. 21, 2012. This would make it the largest global violence reduction in world history.

The CISV Peace Day Challenge will include several different activities and will try to raise awareness of the conflicts surrounding the world.

CISV, a USCCD Member Organization, is challenging individuals to raise awareness from all sorts of conflicts. CISV is encouraging people to set up a project or activity that relates to a certain conflict that impacts your school, your university, your workplace or your community. The project or activity should offer solutions for the conflict, provide direct help for those suffering from the conflict or simply raise awareness.

Check out this video highlighting everything that CISV participants did for Peace Day last year. It's fully encouraged for participants to take as many pictures and videos as possible.

There are several different ways to get started, so make sure to check out the CISV website and find out where to begin. Whether you are planning a mosaic project, need help promoting your activity or need help raising money, CISV and Peace One Day are prepared to help you out.

So be sure to take on the CISV Peace Day Challenge this Sept. 21. With only a little over a year remaining before the day of global peace on Sept. 21, 2012, every contribution will be pivotal in reaching a global truce. Get involved now!
