Michelle Obama Speaks on “100,000 Strong” Initiative between US and China

Today, the first lady Michelle Obama will speak about the initiative to increase the number of American students studying abroad in China. It is specifically designed to train students and the next generation of professionals on how to orchestrate and communicate in U.S.-China relations in the future decades. These relations should be built on cooperation, sustained dialogue and a effective diplomacy (traditional, public, and citizen diplomacy). The citizen diplomacy aspect can be furthered through the aspirations of high school, college, and graduate students studying language and culture on a study abroad program in China. The "100,000 Strong" Initiative will help champion this.
