Deadline Extended: 2010 National Awards for Citizen Diplomacy

Thank you to all who submitted a citizen diplomacy story. We are excited to report that due to your response we have now reached our goal of 100 stories by today!
The response to our online stories campaign has been amazing and we have enjoyed reading each and every one.
The stories campaign link will remain open and you are welcome to continue to submit stories to be posted on our Web site. We will be creating a special stories page to display story submissions. However, the stories received after today will not be considered for their potential as 2010 National Award nominees.
We are, however, extending the deadline for formal nominations for the National Awards for Citizen Diplomacy to Friday, July 23, 2010. Six outstanding citizen diplomats will be honored in Washington, DC this November as part of the U.S. Summit for Global Citizen Diplomacy. Each honoree will receive a $5,000 donation to be awarded to their citizen diplomacy program or non-profit organization of choice.
All stories submitted through today are being reviewed for their potential as awards nominees, and if you already sent in a story, you may be asked within the next few days to submit additional information for the vetting process.
Thank you for helping us inspire others to service with your stories, and honor the outstanding work ofU.S. citizen diplomats around the world!
