Chinese-American Relations Shaped by Iowa

"Perhaps Iowa is the bridge between Chinese and American relations," says AP reporter Robert Ray.
Just listen to the words of the people who were in attendance with Xi Jinping at the home in Muscatine. It's exciting and inspiring to know that the future relations between the United States and China have the potential to be based on citizen diplomacy, because of Xi's impressions of the United States. His first impressions of the US were in 1985, in Iowa. On Wednesday, reconnecting with old friends in Muscatine played a significant role in solidifying the quality relationships already 27 years ago.
This indeed, gives us all great hope for the future.
