Call for Host Families

Call for Host Families

Youth for Understanding (YFU) invites you to make a difference by hosting an international teen this fall. Host families come in many shapes and sizes – some have young children, some are empty nesters, some are retirees - but all act as exemplary citizen diplomats by welcoming an international visitor into their homes. If you are willing to open yourselves to new experiences, share your lives with a fascinating teenager from a foreign land, and provide guidance, love and support to a young person, you will make a great host family.

Visit the YFU website to learn more about hosting and meet YFU students coming later this summer or call 1.800.872.0200 extension #2 to speak with your local Field Director.

Hosting a YFU international exchange student is an enriching experience for the entire family. Give your family a real connection to the world without leaving home. You will experience a foreign culture, see our own culture through a new perspective, and hopefully gain a friend for life!

Since 1951, YFU has been a leader in youth exchange programs in more than 60 countries. As a non-profit organization, YFU and its dedicated volunteers help exchange more than 4,500 students around the globe each year.

Be a U.S. citizen diplomat!  Expand your world by sharing your home and family with an international student this fall.

Learn more about the benefits of hosting, read stories of other host families and meet the incoming YFU exchange students at the YFU website,
